Check out your credit report for negative entries and examine each negative entry to see if it is actually correct. If you find any incorrect entries you can have them removed. This will result in your credit score increasing towards positive territory.

Next look for negative entries which are for small amounts of money. If you come across a delinquency for say $100 for an old phone bill it is a really good idea to contact the creditor and arrange to pay off the amount owed in return for having the negative entry removed from your credit report.

There is a real possibility that for the expense of some of your time, a few letters and maybe a couple of hundred dollars that you might elevate your credit score from bad to good and save yourself thousands over the term of an auto loan for bad credit.
